Carter Ecosystem Services partners with landowners and non-profits to develop and execute land use strategies designed to generate revenue and achieve stewardship goals.

Kent founded Carter Ecosystem Services after experiencing first hand the challenges landowners face when trying to keep and conserve valuable land. While navigating the complex landscape of conservation, Kent quickly realized that with his landowner and marketing background he could help other landowners more efficiently navigate their land use and conservation options.

He first developed his passion for land conservation early on growing up in the rural landscape of Virginia. After graduating from James Madison University with a BS in Geographic Information Systems he decided to move to San Francisco.

Kent spent the next 14 years building a successful marketing and sales career in the Digital Entertainment industry. He worked with a diverse set of clients to create marketing strategies and digital assets that enabled his clients to achieve their revenue goals. He created campaigns for tier one clients including: Microsoft, Pepsi, US Army, AT&T, Toyota and Sony. His ability to develop customer relationships, drive results and build teams resulted in two of the companies he worked for being acquired by AOL and MTV Networks.

While pursuing a career in marketing and sales, Kent continued to develop his passion and knowledge for land stewardship and conservation through volunteer efforts and projects on his properties.
